Jeremy Corbyn attended more meetings than anyone else to make a case for Remain because he is the leader of the Labour party. He did not want to make the Referendum a party political issue. These were – and still are – the actions of an honourable man who takes his duties as an MP seriously. It is time labour MPs went back to their constituencies to ask what their voters want instead of voicing their personal opinion. They represent the people, not their own selfish ends.

He clearly stated his reasoning for voting remain and his reasons for not joining Cameron in the campaign. He is against the eu for many reasons but could see that we were integrated to a point now where staying in was the better option, both for our country and for the stability of Europe.

Yes yes, gut wrenching humility and complete lack of ego should not be deemed as a weakness, far from it in fact. Ms Eagle hasn’t got either of these potent traits.

I think you may be right about the u-turn, however my insight is telling me that his reasons for leaving were completely different from those that campaigned, which meant if he stood with the leave group he would have been arguing for leave for reasons he didn’t agree with. He did what I would have done and vote remain.
If Jeremy and the Party had launched a leave campaign, it would have been very different and for very different reasons.
Look at his voting record and it seems to confirm this.
I probably would have voted leave instead of remain, which means i would prefer JC to be leader to oversee Brexit.

I would like to whole heartedly agree with this article and add that the LABOUR PARTY is not the parliament labour party and any MP who thinks they are popular enough to stand against Jeromy had better be VERY sure of themselves before trying to oust him’ as I believe he will be re-elected and it will be they that will split the party and not him.

Ostarra, don’t forget that he was damned if he did and damned if he didn’t. As a member of TUSC I have helped campaign for his leadership, then seen the organised mobilisation of the masses slow down. But he has only just got the leadership, while fighting the Tories back on a number of issues which would never have happened under labour with miliband, burn ham, cooper or Kendall. Politics tends to be a non lineal pathway so it’s never going to be pretty. Think about the legacy this can leave for other workers/socialist thinkers in the future.

Excuse me! I left the Labour Party after Blair dragged us into the Iraq War. I rejoined when Corbyn stood for Leader. I am 63 years old. I rejoined because it seemed as if the Party was rediscovering its socialist roots. This time I am going to fight with every fibre of my being to defend this remarkable
man!

EU is not undemocratic, it is an anti-democratic organisation. EU is an organisation of the rich, by the rich for the rich. Off course, they do some work for poor and vulnerable people, but that is like “co-lateral damage”. That is not their intention at all; without that, their corrupt existence will be too transparent even for the most deluded. Overwhelming part of EU’s existence is for the benefit of rich and powerful, who has sold their soul to the DEVIL.
Blairites, who think they are leader material and can unite people are gone beyond delusional stage. They cannot even inspire themselves. They voted against Chilcot Inquiry, voted for most Tory Austerity Policies, apologised for their Immigration Policy, introduced tuition fee, PFI, allowed banking crises, stole from poor to give to the rich (QE), killed millions through Illegal War(s) and sanctions, the list goes on. They are in fact worse than Tories. They are corrupt to the core and every time they open their mouth, they lie.
They never supported Jeremy Corbyn. They tried to sabotage leadership election, declared they will not work under him, said that it was the biggest mistake to endorse him (bigger than the illegal war decision), have been planning and plotting to challenge JC, but could not find excuse and now using BREXIT as an excuse?!
They talk absolute rubbish. A 10 year old can see through them and can plan a better coup with better excuse. Wondering where are our so-called free media and self-proclaimed clever journalists? No one is asking these questions. Would be an excellent viewing to see how they defend against the above facts or should I say accusation?!. After all, we have had no inquiry about most of the points highlighted here. Remember we are the master of “INQUIRIES”. We have inquiries for inquires; bit like Inception – dream within a dream.

Corbyn may have regarded the EU as moribund bureaucracy but the current Tory government is stripping away people’s rights faster and deeper than any government in our lifetimes and dividing communities into us and them through media manipulation of lies and negative spin. On that basis the protections in EU law were a lifeline which has now been cut. If Labour can get into government then the damage can be limited. John Pilger is an excellent guide to the twists and turns of British policies and the people they affect. His opinion is one that I respect.

But he split the vote between the working class plus the older generation, going against his principles, and the youth. A terribly damaging societal divide.
I am, of course, pleased to see the Blairites go but cannot trust the man who is now being sold as ‘the second coming’ after he did such an about turn before the referendum.
For 27 years he preached passionately against the EU – he could have and rightfully should have joined the youth vote with the old ‘the workers’ vote, Labours base, and the older generation so that, as one, as a people, we would now be fighting the ‘Globalists’ and the Establishment – instead he persuaded the youth to vote for the worst form of fascism imaginable.
It is true that the young are with him for all of the right reasons but is he their leader for all of the right reasons?
